Wonder what this will go for??

Bizarre maybe. But it sort of makes me go:

:zoom: :yippy: :grnbounce :thmbsp:

You just might get your dream tuner yet!

Hopefully the addition of that second 700t may keep the bidding down on the first one. I mean why go nuts when there's another one available? I don't see the first one topping $500 which means EW get off your can and buy this thing!!:D I know you want to. You know you want to. When there's a will there's a way!!

;)

so much for keeping the price down. Sheesh:rolleyes:

With the serious increase in traffic here at AK, is it possible posts are beginning to have an effect on EBay bidding?

Sometimes it is better to bid on the second item, if there are two similar auctions. When I bought these JBLs shown in my avatar, they cost me well over 700 on eBay, and there was lots of bidding. Naturally, I only swooped in at the end of the auction. But another set appeared on ebay before the auction on mine even finished, and the bidding never got as high. The seller had to relist that second set three or four times before they sold, I think that they sold for less than 600.

Damn zero-feedback bidder bumped the price up to over $500. I've emailed the seller to ask if he intends to allow the bid to stand, and told him I will not get into a bidding war with a zero-feedback guy with unknown intentions and motives.

Might be gunning for the second tuner after all. We'll see what the seller says.

I was out bid by a bogus bidder.
Then it was the case that guy was bidding on every thing and the total amount he bidded was $2,700. I got the sx950 after we found out. And this guy had no feedback and was on shades.
So you are right to be carefull EW.

JUST HAD A LOOK seems strange to me that someone would put so much on a this time (its to early in the race)

Reply from the seller:
I understand, I usually don't either in these situations. What makes matters even worse is that he actually signed up on eBay today. I just sent him an email to verify that he is a serious bidder. If I don't hear back from him by the end of the night, I will have to make a decision as whether to delete his bid and block his i.d. from further bids. I don't like to indiscriminately delete zero feedback bidders and haven't done so in the past. I have yet to be burned by one but, of course, all it takes is one. Let's see what happens in the next couple of hours.
I know he wants to sell to me...we're both rabid baseball fans (he-NY :butt2: me - KC  ). AAMOF, they are playing this evening. :boxing:

I hope this clown (Mr. Zero) does not email him back...

Point taken. But the seller did verify that he created the account just today. Very odd.

Since I have no idea who it is, I'm not too concerned with etiquette. Bidding that high 12+ hours before the end simply indicates curiosity to find out the previous bidders max bid. A serious bidder will wait. Hence my animosity and frustration.

New bidders after a rare and expensive piece are cause for scrutiny. :saywhat:

I wimped out and maxed my bid at $600. I just couldn't see going for more with a second one in tow. With my luck, I'd have won at $800 or something, and the second one would sell for $400.

I mean, come on!! It's bloody FM!!

I might have to put in some stupid-high bid if I really want the second one. Oh well....wish me luck on #2. :boxing: :boxing:

Wow. That went for alot more than I expected. I agree one wonders about zero feedback bidders. Its just that we all started at 0 at one point. But I suppose it could have been the seller deciding he really didnt want to sell for less than $700 after reading this thread:rolleyes: There really isnt any way to tell....or anything to do about it. I think your bid of $600 was a good and reasonable bid.

Not necessarily. Hell, his top bid could have been $5000...eBay doesn't list the top bid for the winner, just the losers.

thats true when I WON the SX-1010 it was on £95.11 I think
I put the last bid in at 10secs the bid was £201.00
I wanted it and I would have been happy to pay that or I would not have bid that much. I did the same with the rotel's Ithink I put £450.00 on it at the last sec.
