Work system - Near Field

Another member convinced me to join. This is my work setup. I listen about 4 hours a day streamed USB and do web meetings about 2-3 hours.

I don't read so much about those that must have both microphones and audio for work and want something better than a headset. I like to mix things a bit just to hear the differences. I'm done on the speaker front, not playing with tubes and maybe amps.

Anyone else spend 90% of their audio time around the work setup?

For me probably greater than 90% at my near-field setup.

Welcome @BirdOnAWire! We have a great new here member folks! Bird and I had a wonderful session mixing and matching our set-ups, and I must say his nearfield set-up is GORGEOUS. The vocals and imaging were fantastic. Sorry I didn’t get back to you this weekend Bird, I was in Joshua Tree NP-no reception.

Nice system.. and what looks like one helluva view!
Sadly, 90%+ of my listening is in "an office setting"...pandora on a Dell M4800 Laptop... not exactly hi-fi.

@imral3 and @avion Thank you.
@imral3 - you got it. Work. The interesting thing is the accountant asked time and time again if it qualified as a business expense. For a 1099 guy, yes (please consult your tax guy). Anyway we are not to be confined to our computer audio and mic system (or video which I

My right channel went out this weekend. I put my starter tube amp back in and it works fine. Just no color/boom/feeling.
Looks like I need to start updating my signature line.

Thank you. The view is great. I like caves. My wife comes up and opens up the blinds - too much light. I could work in a sub.
I like low light, low sound. Last thing I want is to go to a loud concert. Espresso (and some other things) I like strong.

@BirdOnAWire, so it’s the amp and not somewhere in the chain?!
These are both integrated amps, so the problem is inside someplace. The DAC is not the issue.
One on the right works, one on the left does not. I swapped out the power tubes, then the 6SN7 tubes - same thing.
The tubes glow, but no sound in either channel now. And I was sure to switch to the Aux1, Aux2 and CD - just in case :-)

It was the left 300B tube. Running with one channel knocked out the fuse. So I had both channels out - but for different reasons. I put a new fuse in and got a single channel again. Then I measured the bias and it was half of what it should be. Anyway I switched tubes to the Eltro-Harmonix 300B - with new fuse and it all works! The EH do not sound as wide (I don't know the proper term) or as big as the Gold Lions. They also have 10 hours on them. I put the Gold Lions back in a swapped L&R per @Rmac587 suggestion. Now the right was our. So definitely the tubes. They are under warranty, but somewhat a pain.

I'm wondering if I receive a new tube with 0 hours on it and pair it with my tube with 100 hours on it if that will matter?

The whole idea bothers me so I purchased a new matched pair of GL for cheap - $219/pair. They can grow old together.
