boatanchors rule!
My wife's daughter, 17, is a great girl. She's been in Honor Roll since 5th grade. She's very active in the local church's youth activities, is in concert, jazz and marching band as a multi-instrumentalist (flute, clarinet, alto sax; also plays piano, accordion and guitar ...and isn't too bad on a trumpet, either!).
Anyway, she's been away for a week's Bible vacation getaway (I think it's called Centrufuge?) and part of the festivities included tossing all 'fuge participants names into a bin to pick out the big prize which was offered by the host college - this year it was University of Mobile.
Brianna just came home...busting to tell us all something. As you might have guessed, she won the prize. We had no idea the prizes were this...ummm... big!
Brianna won a $20K scholarship to UM!
Barb and I had been gearing up for Bri's college both mentally and monetarily. It was gonna be tight, but do-able. LOL Whew! Now, with this 20 grand headstart handed to her, Barb and I can relax.
