First of all, thank you all for the great words. There's no one more excited than Bri is right now... Barb and I are still a little dazed (in a good way).

As to BP's suggestion: that is precisely what we are doing. With Bri's grades and all, there's no way she wouldn't get pretty much any financial aid she applies for, but this 20K is a pretty damn good start!

her grades are only part of what it takes to qualify for aide. YOUR family income has a LOT to do with it. Wait until you start on the aide forms you'll wish you were doing 5 years of back taxes at once.

Wow! That's great news. Good for Bri! That'll cover the first year, I'm guessing, if she lives on campus. Start learning how to fill out the FAFSA. You'll be filling one out every year she gets any aid.
