X202B time capsule

wow you have more patients than I do.Haveing completed my vintage Fisher system recently I could never let it sit unused !!
Unfortunately I fear the longevity of my stock tubes will be takeing a hit with this much use but ive been compelled to listen to my full library of vinyl and cd since completion,And im amazed daily by how my system preforms.
put that great fisher piece to use...lifes too short!!

Well, I'm lucky enough to have a nice Fisher TA-800 and 500-C that I use quite often. The X202B will be my main Fisher system when I get it finished, which will include a cabinet and R200 tuner.

that good to hear then RS steve, ive never heard the x-202b but being Fisher tube gear im sure its wonderfull sounding.good luck with getting you system together!

I hope to do a shootout between my Fisher lineup at some point to see which model sounds the best to my ears. So far I have had them all hooked to different speakers, so it's hard to tell for sure. Seems like the 500-C is lacking the crisp detailed highs, but still sounds very good. The Cornwalls are to die for hooked to the TA-800, should be fun running all the Fishers through all the Klipsch models I have. I almost forgot I have the TA-600 too, poor thing has been neglected since I received the 800. :D

Well, I'm 50% British if that helps any, my mom was a war bride from London.
Wish there were more AK people near me to get together and help enjoy the gear. I have some ADS 1590's that will work too. :D

R-200 showed up, not as pristeen as the X202B but still nice condition. Looks like it has had a few tubes changed out over its lifetime. I will hook it up and give it a slow startup after work today, but wanted to share some pictures. I'm glad these two units get to stay together.

I will need to find two of the plastic clamps that mount the AM antenna, and the amber jewel is missing also. Interesting that almost all the pictures I find of the R-200 have the jewels in different orders, mine is green, red amber, from left to right.

The R-200 tuner worked ok when hooked up, the tuning dial and signal strength meter seem spot on. I will probably do a deox on the controls and find an amber jewel for it, I doubt it will get much use though since I'm not much of a radio listener.

Sorry, couldn't help myself in sharing more Fisher eye candy. After a deox of the tuner controls, the sound is much better. Too bad the Fisher cabinet builder is taking time off, sure would like to get these units covered up.

You can get jewels on ebay, but if you get them change them all out on the tuner so the three will match. The ebay ones work, but they're not duplicates of the existing ones.

Ok great, I notice on my Fishers, the red is always in the middle. I have searched all over the web for pictures, none are exactly the same in the pictures.

wood cabinet

Received my wood cabinets for my X202B and R-200 today, really enjoying the Fisher sound these days, and now they are even more purdy! Quite a nice collection to show off. :thmbsp:

My X202B gets sent off for a good checkup and maintenance today, I've been afraid to use it much knowing it hasn't been checked out, probably since it was brand new.

I'd missed this thread the first time around.

Wow, glad I caught it this time.

That's a once in a lifetime score, Steve. Glad you are finally sending it out for a checkup and maintenance.
