Yamaha A-1000 Repair and restore

I recommend replacing jumpers with resistor leads of equal cross section (tinned solid copper like factory,
BS
Next time you grab a resistor you can do it with a magnet.. ie tinned iron !!!.. I just picked up a handful of resistors with a magnet..

As above, need to clean glue and replace corroded jumpers + components.
Acetone softens the glue, don't get it on other components. Use a plastic or wooden scraper to preserve the board.
When the glue is dark like yours it comes off easily, isopropyl alcohol may be enough

F yeah....make it look like that

You should be testing the cut lead alone, not the resistor body.
Anyway - like I said in the other thread - check with a magnet first.
Most good resistors have copper leads.

The point is, replace tinned copper jumpers with tinned copper jumpers.
I just chopped off ma ol phone wiring in ma house an used dem as jumpas. Ya'll got cellphones anyway who needs um,.Dat ol telco wiring is da purest copper known ta man. Got sum on a spool sumwares sittin?

Hello Everyone,

After my success previous Yamaha A-720 restoration, i bought a A-1000 last weeek. Of course i disassembled, desoldered the main board caps to clean up the red glue, now i collect the replaceable resistors capacitors, etc.
My question is, anybody have a god quality service manual for this model? Because i downloaded from elektrotanya (it's a hungarian site, with my native language), but the quality of the photocopy not too good, some part are missing.
One more thing about the BBQ board which type of resistor recommended (27k Carbon 1/2 or 1W, 27k Metal film 1/2 or 1W)
THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR HELP!
Cheers
Norbert
