Anybody know if this int amp has out/inputs for pre-out and main-in ?

Any opinions of this little unit ? My thoughts are very decent unit, just wondering if I could use it as pre or amp only if needed...

I found one of these for $10 on FB Marketplace and would love to use it as a preamp. Anybody know if it'd be possible/worth it to modify it with a preamp out section?

Looking at the schematic it appears I could tap into the the signal at IC102 or perhaps at the balance pot?

You could use the tape monitor outs I bet if your amp has level control to use as the volume

How about... pull C185,6 and take the feed from the +ve side of this cap. The other vacant hole could be tied to GND so the STK is well behaved. Tapping at Pin 15 is a bit risky, within the feedback path (emitter resistors, R163, R219)

Thanks for contributing your expertise. I have some very basic knowledge but I'm a keen learner! What do you mean by the vacant hole? The one left by the + side of the cap?

Yeah, wasn't real clear, apologies.

The suggestion is to pull C185 first noting +/- orientation.
The preamp out audio could then be taken from the now vacant + hole
The C185 - hole can be left empty or connected to GND.
Repeat for C186 for the right channel
