Hello all - my first post. My decision may well be made by the time I get a response, but what the heck, I'm curious as to what you have to say.
My current amp is going in for repair and I expect it will be a while so I'm looking into a replacement to get me through Christmas. There are two old ones around that have caught my eye. The Yamaha AX-300u and the Onkyo A-RV401. Both available for about the same price ($40 or so), and both will meet my needs for a few weeks.
There is a very helpful thread on the Yamaha here http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/yamaha-ax-300u-w-pics.296455/
Some digging on the Onkyo suggests it's worth a look too, but I suspect it lacks the high-end innards of the Yamaha.
Any thoughts?
