I got the switch to work and it comes out of protection. The left channel has some distortion which will need some attention.

Yeah. SX-1050 and a Sherwood Micro CPU 100 Tuner.

2 grand in '77? Geez. You could get an AMC Pacer for that back then, no? I think I'd rather have that tuner, then and now. Now you can say you have the worlds first computer controlled tuner. Sweet 3 in 1 deal there!
