I got the switch to work and it comes out of protection. The left channel has some distortion which will need some attention.

You could be that lucky... when mine has a hiccup like that I cycle the input and A + B switches and the distortion goes bye bye.... and yes I know I should clean them... something intimidating about opening up this thing!

Thanks! Many Yamaha's are my favorites like the PC2002M and the NS-1000M. Not all Yamaha's are on my "hit" list. Only the one's that run hot.

The distortion was coming from the power switch. The contacts were shot so I jumpered the poles until I can find a new switch and shank assembly.

Oh, this Yammie runs cool so I approve!
