Yamaha CA 2010

I never seem to find the deals that you other AK'ers talk about. I always pay market rates (read eBay closed auction) or higher.

Notice how I didn't mention how much I paid for my 1010 or 810??:D I just don't have the time (mainly the ambition) to do the thrift, garage sale or continually search the eBay initial listings. Like today... I took a vacation day... and I need to get my @ss in gear soon and get some constructive things done instead of wasting my :D time on this non time productive forum and self gratifying hobby.:D:D

Walker, I finagled a Yammy RX-V1 outta my insurance co., which I still have. It's "Better" than the CA-2010, has many more bells 'n' whistles, I can make my living room sound like an intimate club or a cathedral, but I STILL miss ol' '77 CA-2010...

I am biting my nails

Thanks for all your advice. I am watching this one VERY carefully. I just agreed to two contracts during the summer to ensure that I can afford this piece of gear. But, there is a limit. If it goes beyond that...oh well. I did e-mail the seller and she said that she would ship to a Canadian address. I assured her that I was serious about the amplifier, so she agreed.

So, all I can do is hope for the best and bite my nails for the next 5 days. If all goes well, I be posting the a the Bat Cave's refit.

Wow, nearly $500 with two hours to go. I dare say this thread might have let the cat out of the bag in tipping a couple people off...........

Well.....there was once a post that AKers would not bid against eachother. A kind of a gentlemans' agreement. I have respected this in the past and will continue to do so. I have gone as far as sending PMs just to make sure that I was not "stepping" on anyones' toes. It is a free world.

I do have quite the difficult decision on my hands. I do have the ability to purchase this unit. But, I am not sure about the cost benefit. I would be equally happy with a Yamaha CA 1010 in similar condition too. Those do come up on eBAY more often. I think I am starting to feel dissapointed already.

I believe that post quickly turned around to the tune of 'every man out for himself', especially if a killer deal is on the table. Don't be naive in thinking ALL AKers are wearing halos. There's plenty of lurkers out there just sponging off information.

It's a dog-eat-dog world out there and there's plenty of people itching at the trigger finger to scoop things up regardless who's involved.

P.S. The Yammy CA-2010 or CA-1010 is VERY fine with excellent build quality and might heft. Literally feels like it's filled with lead..........

DK, wait, this one is way over the top. Find one with a nick or scratch and save a couple of hundred bucks. I have seen them on local classifieds for about $275 this year, less for a 1010. And the last selling prices on the awesome A-1 were $166 or so, $108 and $195. The 1000 goes for up to $200. This one has gone WAY too far. Remember my $135 M-4!

Thanks guys. I was getting pretty hot under the collar. $522 seems like way too much. God bless the buyer and I hope they enjoy it in good health. I will pass on this one. I am glad you were on AK tonight.

Sorry you didn't get it DK. But WOW.. $569. It was in great physical condition. I think you did the right thing.
