Yamaha CR-1020 Case Measurements

Hey folks,

I was just wondering if one of your number could do me a favour and measure their original Yamaha CR-1020 case from the front edge that butts up against the faceplate to the front edge of the top grill?

I have my receiver out for reconditioning a few hours away and forgot to take that measurement.

I want to have a cabinet maker build a new dark walnut case with a light maple inlay at exactly the halfway point between the faceplate and grill.

Thank you to anyone who can help me out with this.

Marc :)

Welcome Marc,
I took these two pictures of my CR-1020 cabinet. The measurement from the back side of the cabinet to the grating is a more reliable measurement at about 1-5/8".
Since I have done previous repair work on the front edges of my cabinet, you should probably subtract about 3/16" from the reading in the photo, which is just under 3.5". This would make the measurement from the base area of the faceplate to the grating at approximately 3 - 1/4".
Hope this helps.

Archie
