I have an old Yamaha CR-400 tuner that I picked up in university almost ten years ago at a Salvation Army, it served me well for many years, and I had it serviced once about 3-4 years ago. Last time I hooked it up, a bunch of the bulbs had burnt out, tuning wheel was giving a weird clicking noise and feeling, and I wasn't getting any sound.
I want to undertake trying to repair it myself, which would be my first foray into any kind of electronic DIY (besides an electronics class I took ages ago in high school and taking apart phones as a kid). I found re-cap kit on ebay: ebay.ca/itm/164155407554
I've been looking at the pinned threads here in DIY, and was wondering if I'll need all the equipment listed or if I could get away with a soldering station, multimeter, and screwdrivers? I was looking at the Hakko FX-888D and maybe the Klein Tools MM700.
Any pointers are greatly appreciated!
