Yamaha CR 820 No Mono or Stereo light

Yammie CR820. Sounds terrific. But no voltage to stereo indicator light and no mono. I suspect they are related. AM band only emits a shrill tone. But I never listen to AM.
Switches cleaned. Unit recapped except for filter caps which test fine.
Set DC idle current. Checked output transistors. Only know enough to get myself into trouble.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The first thing is to tune in a know good strong FM Stereo station... And make minor tweek to VR201 in the service manual. Or follow the following procedure in the manual..VCO may be slightly detuned.

19 Khz is the FM stereo identifier signal from the radio station. If your not detecting the 19 Khz then the FM stereo LED will never illuminate.

Ended up replacing the indicator light transistors. That fixed the problem. Even though they tested fine on the transistor tester.
Thanks for your help.
