Hi - I have a CR-2040 and wondering what models Yamaha had that came after it, larger or better? Anyone know of a time-line or list available? I checked Yamaha's site and the CR models were not listed in their historic section.

Looks like the CR-2040 came after the 3020 if I reading things correctly.
That's correct. Last of the CRx40 & CRxx40 receivers... Enter the R & RX line.

Just replaced the devices connected to my CR-2040 from switching power supplies to linier and WOW, absolute silence other then some radio station bleed over to AUX and such. Guessing it's better to have the CR2040 then to 3020 because they it is an revolutionary step up.

A pragmatic solution could be to tune away from any station, with muting enabled. (FM band assumed.)
