Yamaha CR1020 lights have stopped lighting up on the three meters

Hi everyone.
CR1020 continues to work beautifully after service and recap but the three light on the meter displays have recently stopped lighting up - I think simultaneously -
although they had been working just fine.
So where should I look first?
Easy to say "replace the bulbs" but the fact that all three have stopped lighting up at the same time might suggest something else?
Look forward to hearing. Cheers.

If you're going to get them off eBay, then use this URL:

That guy is out of Haymarket, Virginia. The bulbs are the perfect size to fit into the OEM holes.
Of course they come in different colors. I have green led bulbs in my CR-2020, and the soft white leds in my CR-1020. They put out fairly decent luminescience too.
Also, be sure to take care to keep the wiring straight. It's just like avionic said: 'wired in a series - parrallel'.
Good luck,

Archie

I get my incandescent lamps at DGWOJO.com Dave will kit you-up with exact replacements.

I used to use incandescent replacements, but I got tired of having to replace them every couple/three years, so I went with LEDs.

I have had to replace numerous lamps on vintage gear, but considering how long it took to burn them out (decades in most cases), I go back to incandescent types. I think it's kind of unusual to lose them after 2-3 years, but maybe I have just been lucky:)

Well it may have been longer than just a few years. I'm the original owner of my CR-1020 (from 1977), and I kinda lost track of how many times I've opened it up just to replace the instrument lamps. ;-(

LED's will work too. Just have to wire them up correctly for the protect circuit to function properly. If not wired correctly you will get "pops " in the speakers every time you flip the power switch off.

Thanks Avionic, much appreciated.
Would go directly to DGWOJO but I’m UK based so postage could be a pain. Any tips for the best brand or spec that I can try to source that will have a better chance of longevity?
