Yamaha CR2040 died while changing lamps

I’ve had the lights on my 2040 replaced 5 or 6 times along with DC offset and idle current checked and adjusted along with deoxit for switches. Never had an issue 17 years using this machine *daily* (which is why I go through bulbs like underwear) and never had issue. Any reason so many seem to be blowing up their unit changing the lights out?

I have a donor 2040 from which I took the power transformer. You welcome to any parts you need from the donor (no charge).

Hi, I don't know if you still have the donor cr2040, but I would need the signal quality meter and the fm tuning meter for mine.

I successfully found a factory assembly issue in one and used it a while before passing it on, STK-0080-2 outputs with another chip plate module of some sort as drivers, iirc.

Not the CR-2040. It has discreet amplifiers.

Someone swapped out the power transformer . Twisting wires and vinyl electrical tape...

Note the 4 pieces of polyolefin heat shrink...Not much of a fan of electrical tape.:beerchug:
