Now I can clean the front and the rest of the unit.
The previous owner operated the device without a lid (at least that's what he told me). There was so much dust inside that you couldn't see the components.
This just brings up a question. The pre-owner left greasy fingerprints on the displays and on the scale in the middle.
I guess that the surface is very sensitive to scratches. Before I scratch it, maybe someone knows how to remove the fingerprints.

The acrylic display I clean with glass cleaner. If any scratches need removed I use a automotive headlight polishing kit.
Inside I would use a damp microfiber cloth with dawn soap and warm water to remove grease and fingerprints.

How much DC you have at the speaker terminals (turn gain pots to minimum; no load at the speaker terminals)?

Oh, so that's what you mean. :idea:
How high should the DC Balance voltage be?
Then I can look directly if it fits or not.

I'll check it out later. Yesterday I first changed the remaining capacitors, cleaned the front and renewed the relays, because of the age and the bad storage in the cellar of the previous owner.

Welcome aboard. Best bet is to repair the one you have. What kind of problems are you experiencing ?
 
Thank you for your really efficient reply. I bought an MX-1000 at auction. Tech just opened up the bottom and one of the amplifier boards is missing! Need a replacement, think it is the Right Hand Channel. I have done a quick search around the world and these boards do not come up. Any advice on locating one?

I believe the Left and Right boards are interchangeable..

Welcome aboard.
Another option would be to design the board yourself.
Except for the HCA circuit, all parts are easily replaceable. But I could provide information about the HCA circuit, because I built a BA3122N IC clone for a MX-2.
The MX-1000 has the same HCA circuit but with discrete components and the monolithic transistors are now relatively rare to get for little money. ;)
