Yamaha NS-1000M binding posts and speaker stands

I finally broke down, and after 36! years of ownership, I have replaced the lame spring speaker terminals with a nice set of banana jack binding posts mounted in 3mm maple plates. I also replaced the 20/22awg bell wire with 14awg from the new posts to the crossover board.

Also, a shot of my custom speaker stands that I designed and had built by a friend with a welding shop. The Z design brings the speaker height to my ears when seated. They are made out of 1/4" laser cut steel plate.

Binding posts will open up options for different speaker cable experimentation. Enjoy. I see you have no spikes in the "foot" - I find that always helps to anchor the stand firmly so that it provides a solid base to the speaker. I have a stand with a plate design and found that the plate rings (resonates) quite a bit. I hope you dont have that problem. I went for 50 mm sand filled square tubing steel later. I am sure your speakers will sound great on your attractive stand. Looks great

You can just barely make out where I tapped the stands for the feet (if you squint!) on the back right corner. Otherwise, the carpet hides the feet completely.

No ringing with 1/4" plate and the triangular gussets you can see in the photo.
