Yamaha NS-2000 Don't get to excited....

I love my NS-2000's. They have excellent bass, and can really dig deep.

They replaced the speakers behind them in my main system:

They're 10000's and you're correct, the tt is a GT-2000. Using an AT-ART9 on it.

Listening to an SHM-CD of the Moody Blues In Search of the Lost Chord - sounds wonderful through the NS-2000's.

Wow, that's one of the ugliest veneer jobs I've ever seen. I wouldn't buy those, they must have been ridden hard.

Owning NS-1000x's I've found them to be highly sensitive to placement. It's sink or swim. Having recently had a chance to hear NS-2000's for several hours with familiar recordings I'd say if they don't sound amazing then they're hooked to the wrong gear or placed wrong. Both the NS-1000x's & NS-2000's are superb speakers that give a faithful and balanced presentation of the source material.

To further illustrate the difference the source makes, just for fun I swapped my B-2x for my M-85 and ran it with my NS-1000x's . Wow, it just doesn't compete with the M-85. It's clean and accurate but just not very dynamic and gives less low end. Is the B-2x a lesser quality amp? Absolutely not but it does have lower power handling. It sounds just fine with my NSF-901's but doesn't fit the NS-1000x's. The listed sensitivity ratings are similar for both sets of speakers but the NS-1000x's do noticeably better with the added power of the M-85.
