It's about a 70 mile drive each way and I've already overloaded my available space by a factor of about 10 with Sansui and Marantz gear. I was just letting fellow AKers know about it because I know Yamaha has a devoted following here. I did see in researching this unit here that it apparently is well known for having an inadequate heat sink. That's just a whole ball of wax I don't need to get into as I don't do repairs on my own stuff, but rather send it out. I'm afraid I might grow to like Yamaha too and that would be like adding a whole new drug family to my addiction.

I feel the pain of the pain you are feeling. Lately the only things that make my audio habit happy are vintage tubes, and Yamaha solid state. In fact, a Yamaha CA-1010 kicked out a fisher tube integrated from my bedroom system. They made some fine, fine, fine gear.
