Yet ANOTHER Goodwill SCORE....

(not to hi-jack the thread)

Why are red seals of better quality? I have some...

I don't know....they look to be of better vinyl, and that's about the only discernible difference...maybe some others can chime in.

I would like to know this, too. HIJACK AWAY.

Man by the time I make it back to the states, David is gonna own all the vinyl and I wont be able to find anything but tumbleweeds and herb alpert at the goodwills!

Good Score :)

Don't forget "hooked on Classics" and Great Music from the Movies....:D

I rarely listen to classical for the same reasons avguy stated.

His reason was bad quality vinyl. Not a valid reason. Neither is yours. At least say you don't like classical and be done with it. (Even though I know deep down that there's something out there that would change your mind forever).

Sorry for the emotional interruption.

Autumn

Huh! I just spun that this evening (lovely stuff). Some guy in Portland sold off hundreds of LP's on CL a month or so ago. Came home with about 60 (buck each). this is one of the best so far, condition-wise.

You said what I did not have the courage to say.

I know that all of my classical vinyl is not perfect, especially the EARLY EARLY Columbia LP's from 1949-50.....i still enjoy them just as much as perfect RCA Red Seals.

You're correct, Infinitoid. I'm not a classical fan, but also not a classical hater. I try so hard to listen but my mind drifts away. I have enjoyed Ravel, Beethoven, and many others.

I pop a classical LP onto the TT once in a while. After one side I'm ready for Weather Report or Frank Zappa. Thats the stuff that fires my blood!

I'll keep trying, though. Please, make a suggestion that will change my mind forever. Seriously. :music:

Thanks,
Rick

And, David, I know you don't mind this minor hijack. Otherwise I wouldn't have done it.

I actually enjoy hijacks, as they are fun to see what everyone is thinking, and wants to post in response to this thread, or post because reading the thread made them think of something.

OK...this does it!

The RCA Shaded Dog of Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto looks MINT, the cover looks MINT, but yet it it horrible noisy.

my next project is going to be building an RCM. This settles it. Even better, we have a broken vacuum that I can borow the motor from (motor is fine).
