Your Classic Rock Vinyl Collection

I am at about 1000 lps and another 700 or so CD's I though I had more at some point, but I am sure some have wandered off the reservation during the dark digital years.
Most are Classic Rock, but I am guessing 25-30% are other genres. I have been culling and upgrading a bit, and I am trying to settle on the best copy for each, but I do still have multiple copies of some.

What I have learned in searching the thrifts and local stores is that while in my mind my records I have owned for 30 years have had their share of abuse, I routinely run across another copy and convince myself that it is an upgrade, but find when I compare them, that mine are better than 90% of the others I find.

Ive accumulated about 2500...including some lucky psych finds...used to find a lot at garage sales and thrift stores, but they have dried up a bit lately...my collection is posted at www.rateyourmusic.com, user name olorin67. In 20 years of thrift store hunting, my best find was Bob Dylans first album... Autographed by him... But i hate to think of how many mantovani records and sing along with mitch i had to dig through..

Growing up in the age of Classic Rock, thats where my main musical taste lies. But I also have an appreciation for some eclectic genres too. I've been buying vinyl since the 70's and never stopped playing it, however in the last 10 years I have expanded the collection drastically. I've been hunting the thrifts and estate sales, and finding good stuff on the cheap. I'm pretty picky about condition so have to wade through a bunch dreck to find my new treasures. I estimate the entire collection to number around 7000 to 8000. I've started to catalog what I have, and have it alphabetized (haha what a fun job) .
