It has to be PULP FICTION where Honey Bunny (Amanda Plummer) yells out " Any one of you F'ing pric-s move and I'll execute every last mother F'ing one of you" which leads right into MISERLOU by Dick Dale. Hard to top that one.

Here's one nobody has mentioned.

Donnie Darko, with our hero pedaling a bike on that most perfect of California mornings, while INXS plays "Never Tear Us Apart".

Gets me in the nads every time, especially after you've watched and understood what the movie is really about.

Looks like the original version of this scene used Echo and the Bunnymen's "Killing Moon".

Opening of ST:TMP as the Klingons 'attack' V'Ger. Great music; you can hear a little male vocal and a jingle, gives one the impression of barbarian cavalry, which suits the Klingons well. Great graphics for the time; Mark Lenard peering at the screen with that wtf look.

Opening of the Dark Knight as Joker's gang takes out a bank. Notice the eerie buzzing in the soundtrack (I heard that years ago in a Yo La Tengo song, 'Everyday'.) great, eerie stuff with the robbers all in clownish masks. "No no no no, I shoot the bus driver."

Ever? La Dolce Vita and 8 1/2 come to mind. And it's definitely hard to go wrong with Touch of Evil.

Recently, Inglorious Basterds, Children of Men and There Will Be Blood. And Up if animation counts.

In between those, I love the opening of Wings of Desire. Walkabout and Aguirre: The Wrath of God are also great.

Of course, many James Bond films had very actiony opening scenes. I particularly liked Goldeneye.
 
BARBARELLA. From a few decades back. A very young Jane Fonda stripping in space in a weightless environment. Very, very sexy. You get tricked for 5 or 10 minutes waiting to finally get to see the "good stuff", but you never do.
 
So far unmentioned - Crusaders of the Lost Ark. Also the football sequence at the start of The Last Boy Scout.

'Crusaders' or 'Raiders'?

Raiders OS was indeed awesome. Spielberg reinvented the action movie genre. Only bad thing was dozens of lame imitators (Alan Quartermain, The Phantom, Jake Speed, etc).

Doh! Raiders (tired - and sub conscious anti raiders football...)

Most awesome movie experience. One of my friends was given passes to sneak preview of Raiders when it first came out, so got to sit down and watch the movie with no idea what was coming. (no trailers or anything previous.)
