Your Favorite Receiver

yammie.jpg Yamaha RXV1.I've had about fifty receivers of various makes and vintage.Nothing flashy but to me this Yamaha and the RXZ9 are the best I have heard.SQ and the control of the music with the volume control are what did it for me.Vintage???Perhaps a Pioneer SX838 or Sony 7065 or Sansui 9090db.

I had a Marantz 2385 that was nice but my favorite has to be my Realistic STA-2300 followed by my Viking SC-5814!

A long time ago, I was given that same exact Marantz receiver for a pretty good price. After having it delivered, I soon watched it tumble down my staircase as I dropped it. Very unfortunate..it knocked all of the internals out of place and was basically dead.

My long gone Pioneer SX 828---------------but the 1250 is doing its job very well. Still have my Sansui 1000A-it is a keeper.

The only receiver I've kept for a long time is my Realistic STA-960. I think the Realistic/Optimus line from that era was very good and flies under the radar these days.

I always like best what is in the rotation at present. I only own two receivers a Sansui 5000X and a Kenwood Kr-9400. The Kenwood is up now and I like it very much. Tons of ready power and a nice phono pre-amp. It is truly a monster.

Having never owned a receiver I can't say. Though I liked the SX pioneer series we sold. If you can call a MX-110 Z with a separate MC 225 or 275 a receiver , that would be my favorite. I did like the sound of the MAC 1900, but it was to underpowered for me.

Not the sexiest beast out there, really not a beast at all, but I will never get rid of my Luxman R-113. For a BOTL receiver it kicks some major booty.

Pioneer SX-737 the finest sounding receiver I ever had. The Technics SA-828 is a close second sounds real nice
do not like the push button volume that much but the phono stage is nice MM & MC capability.
