Love coming home...

I got some presents in the mail yesterday. It's nice to come home from work and my collection of Peter Garbiel LPs arrived (the untitled ones, Plays Live, and So). I stopped at an Army on the way home and found The Who's "The Who By Numbers" which came complete with a beat up jacket (looks as though someone spilled something on it). Fortunately I don't care about the jacket... the LP looked to be in great shape, just dirty. I also grabbed Kansas' "Leftoverture" because who doesn't want "Carry On Wayward Son" on vinyl. I grabbed some 80's compilation LP that had stuff from Billy Idol, The Go-Go's, Split Enz (Pearl Jam covers one of their songs), Flock of Seagulls, and a few others. All for the princely sum of $2.97.

Now I just need my TT to show up...

Then I got a couple of LP's at a great used record store in Lincoln, NE when I was back visiting family, both $5.75. Didn't have any more room in my luggage, but wished that I could buy about 15 other LP's (okay, more like 150):

I am currently selling one online its original US pressing with the 3 color steamboat reprise label 1967. very good condition too. How much did it set you back? I am having some regrets and might withdraw it from auction:yes:

I'm still waiting for it to show up to clarify a potential issue with the seller. I think it may be a two-tone pressing, (which I think is a second issue?) though the seller indicated it was an original press. Something I didn't realize until a few days ago. Silly me.

But it was supposedly a first issue with both vinyl and cover in VG+. 20 bucks. Got it from a site that was recommended to me, but they don't have pics.

Now, if only media mail didn't take forever to get to Alaska....

I'm still not sure to let auction finish or not, I mean so what if the cover has a bit of shelf wear the vinyl is very good and plays well. I also don't need to sell it as the bank loaned me some money so don't need to sell it anymore. Although I only paid $50 NZ and I stand to sell for $85 NZ a nice little profit which I can buy a new reissue :yes: just don't know maybe the original IS a better pressing/quality recording??? what do you think.

Mmmm...tough call. Is yours a mono pressing? I've heard great things about original mono pressings. If that's the case, maybe hold onto it. On the flip side, I've heard great things about the reissues for most of the Hendrix albums.

However, you're always taking a chance! If you've got a decent copy, and don't need the cash, you might just hold onto it!

Though bank loans are never good. Nasty interest.

1. Postal carrier delivered my copy of the Ten re-issue double LP. I was a little bummed the remixed version does not have the six bonus cuts. I have the CD version, so it's not a tragic loss. Thank you Ten club!

2. Stopped by an antique store on the way to a friends. Grabbed some Hysteria by Def Leppard and Van Halen's Van Halen for $5 total. They had some decent stuff, but I didn't want to go too crazy. I probably should have snagged the Hendrix LPs (forget what they were). Oddly, there was a ton of INXS stuff. I laughed. They had a shelf full of 45's. Next time I go they are on the list.

Just need my turntable and receiver to play everything on now...

Skipped the Hendrix? Some copies are worth some $$. Chances are, they weren't, but worth checking. I found some INXS and Pet Shop Boys at a thrift a few weeks ago. Skipped it, though it was a tough call. But realistically, I'd probably listen to a few songs, and that's it.

Nice scores though. I've been looking for Van Halen's ST LP. Great rock album.
