Zenith A589 Solid State

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the website and was referred from Reddit. I am really excited to start the hobby (eventually probably an addiction) of listening to Vinyl and collecting it. That being said I am looking for my first set up and came across a Zenith A589 solid state on Craigslist.

I searched on the forum and haven't seen any posts regarding the model and was curious if anyone had any insight into the quality of the model and whether it would be a good starting setup.

Yeah that's the one. What's the difference between tubes and solid state in a quick run down and will I be able to tell the difference? I'm not a huge audiophile but I still want to have a better listening experience than mp3.

I think it looks nice too but any idea on the quality of the model?
 
Without going into a huge debate, try and find someone who has a tube amp or system and have a listen. If you can't, this little modular unit might be just what you need. They can sound pretty good for what they are with the right speakers.
