Hello.
Is there any turntable speed adjustment on an old Zenith console stereo. Mine is spinning at 37-38 RPM. Any info would be helpful.
This stereo has been in my family since brand new and is perfect except for the fast turntable.

There isn't. And BSR changers run a bit fast. If you're nuts about speed accuracy, buy turntables meant for broadcast and studio work. And I happen to be a Zenith fanatic. But the VM changers with Micro-Touch were the best most Zeniths had, and more accurate speed wise once serviced.

I’m not a fanatic. It’s always been a little fast. But now it’s fast enough that you can’t help but laugh. But it still sounds amazing.
 
The Allegro gear sounded better than most in the day. My older stepbrother still has his. Enjoyed it in my early teens. Wonder if your mechanism which moves the idler wheel is misadjusted, or hardened grease? Many BSR changers do suffer from hardened grease. Also, is your idler wheel good, and gripping properly?
 
Well I took off the turntable and the grease is not hardened and is evenly distributed. As far as I can tell everything looks good. It spins between 38-40 rpm. It varies from day to day.
