At one time, somebody who had completely refurbished one just like that put up a webpage detailing just what they had done. The tv part is a real complicated mess, but the HIFI isnt bad. Ive got one just about like it, only it is the HIFI only, not the TV. Much simpler than the ones from the mid-late 40's that had both types of FM, and shortwave. It just has "Armstrong" FM. I have forgotten the tubes, but it isnt hard to fix up that part. At $20, its a beautiful cabinet just to stack other stuff on....

Oh, and this is either a 1951 or a year + or -. Mine is a '51

Probably 6V6 if I had to guess. Something like that you restore for its original job, it wouldn't be well suited to gutting for a stand-alone amp. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a seperate amp chassis anyway.

I'll never buy a console again unless it has a fisher CX ,SA or McIntosh in it.
His asking price is fair though. I paid the same. :yes:
