Are we still doin' official ewaver post? If so here's my entry with the somewhat ubiquitous NLA implementation. I tried the ewave with a couple other old woofers I had lying around with ported boxes but the tried and true Advent woofer came in sounding best. I think someday I'll get around to putting some new skin on the cabs and maybe even get them out of the dungeon .

I built up a pair for the DC300s, and it fits. For KL3012LF and DE250, it's the 2.0 mH that may not fit. I ordered, but they're on B/O right now; we'll know eventually....

I'm getting ready to jump in now. Advent legacy, or NLA?

I have the legacies, the NLA walnut bullnose is available as a trade for a fairly funky looking pair of JBL830 that are too big for my desk.

Is it time we make a logo for this project? I'm sure there are enough of us we could get some badges made at a reasonable cost. What kind of symbolism would you see in an e-wave logo?

Those EASE plots really do a good job of illustrating the issue. As you said, those images model the nulls with the speaker on its side.
I am going to read that thread from the top. Want to see why a 1" tweeter stands in for what we've got.

Well, I think the B(arzilay)-Waves are nicely broken in now! For a while I've been bugged by one thing: they sound better off-axis, than on-axis. When I'm sitting directly in front of them I can detect an upper-mid "honk", much like traditional horns. It's not glaring, but noticeable. However, I can make it go away by standing up, which puts me at a 30 degree (approx.) angle to the WG throat.

What's the best way to tackle this?

Today I pulled the Pyle waveguides and applied some of that window weatherstrip putty crap on the backsides. I also discovered a very nice loop in the HF hookup wires. So, after fixing this, a quick listen showed noticeable improvement, but an extended listening session is definitely in order!

Also, while thinking about the whole "throat resonance" thing, wouldn't it make sense to treat the horn throat with some sort of acoustically inert material (foam, or whatever)? Wouldn't that kill, or at least severely maim any standing waves?

Speaking of Barzilay cabinets, how suitable would the Altec 416-8A be in it? I used WinISD Beta for modeling, and T/S data from the Altec 416-8Z. Here's the sealed response graph: (125L, 4.4 ft^3 volume)

This gives me an F3 at about 90 Hz. Unacceptable. So making the box vented gives me a horribly ugly plot, with an enormous peak. The box has to be smaller than 10L to give a smooth plot. Even then, F3 is about 40 Hz. That would be like having a 15" driver in a shoebox. Again, unacceptable.

Did I do something wrong? Converting Ft^3 to L? It would be awesome to have B(arzilay)-Wave 2.0 use the Altec woofer with the B&C/QSC combo.

Your -10 db is 30hz, not bad. It's a very smooth rolloff.
