Zu Audio Omen Dirty Weekends

There was a DW pair I think was in CT or somewhere the owner put on sale in FB marketplace and it didn't sell for 6 months. That's right 6 months. Unfortunately he wanted to sell it local only and did not want to ship. So the value proposition. Absolutely. They appreciate like gold.

RIP DW. End of story whether it's a troll or not. Moving on to the next one now.

So, have you even heard a pair of Dirty Weekends or are you simply imparting your wisdom? Lots of folks want to analyze the market and how it relates to a product without actually being able to make an honest assessment of said product.

Ah, the Internet….anonymity opens many doors to questionable behavior.

In my neck of the woods 2-channel audio is almost dead, the B&M stores have all gone out of business but there a couple of local individuals who are trying to get some kind of appointment only things going. Home Theater might as well be dead. Virtual Reality, gaming and stuff like that remain and a few of those retailers have gone to home automation and new home builders stuff. The economy sucks even though the Chamber of Commerce, realtors, and various rah - rah boosters still insist that things are going great. Sure they are:bs:
2-channel is dead here, unless you consider the crap sold at big-box stores. Pretty much the same with anything approaching 'high-end'. Our nearest high-end B&M store is, as has been mentioned, primarily home theater and home automation. Difficult to even get a knowledgeable sales person to talk to as they are all out on installations.

As for the economy, those boosters are really telling you how good the economy is for them and their rich friends. The rest of us??? perhaps not so much (especially on a fixed income since most COLAs have been removed).

The DW at $1000 was a very good value.

It was 3 years back. Not so much when they decided to hike up the price. Now it's worthless since it's dead. We could only dream it becomes some kind of a vintage wannabe. But speakers are speakers they make sound that's it. Never in history a speaker got sold for a million dollars. Most go to trash or goodwill after a couple years of use.

Can you explain how it’s “worthless?” So have you had a chance to actually critically listen to a pair of Dirty Weekends or have you formed an opinion based on what you’ve read on the internet? Just curious.

The Dirty Weekend will become vintage as time makes that inevitable. But that’s neither here nor there.

That's your opinion. Good luck with that. Just like you have your opinion, I have mine as well and everyone has their own. It's just not in line with yours.

But the weight of one’s opinion is directly related to one’s experience. Have you actually listened to Dirty Weekends? Why won’t you answer the question?

He is 100% correct, the speakers will be vintage after an amount of time.

A generally accepted industry standard is that items made between 20 years ago and 100 years ago are considered "vintage" if they clearly reflect the styles and trends of the era they represent. Items 100 years old or more are considered antique.

I don't really understand what you are trying to prove in this thread anymore. IIRC at some point in the not too distant past you wanted a pair of new DWs, then you didn't, now you seem to be on some sort of a crusade.

If we were all to give you our full attention, what would you add to the conversation?

When the horse was alive, was trying to get a ride on it. But now it's dead, cannot help myself or anyone could. There was some value when it was alive. If not the whole world, a few wanted to get a ride and was worth "something". But after it went to the coffins, all the few can say is it's "worthless". Worthless because even the few who wanted to take the ride couldn't even when it was alive. But now?

The ones who got horses in your bran yard can take a ride as many time you like. For the others a dead horse is a dead horse.

Why are you here?

In English, please.

If they are indeed no longer available for the foreseeable future, doesn’t that make them even more valuable?? :-)

They are a very good speaker. I would recommend to anyone and everyone to actually give them a critical listen before drawing conclusions, or it’s just uninformed, unsubstantiated blather.

:) Yeah......
I won't mince words; at this point I've no interest in this poster's additions to the conversation. The additions are not in good spirit and (at least as demonstrated so far) are uninformed and immature, in spite of the remarkably creative horse metaphors.

I love it when anonymous folks on the internet opine about equipment they know nothing about….very enlightening- NOT.
