Hi Ctodd, Seems like you purchased a STA - 240 with Service manual? Me too! If you indeed have the service manual it might be the only one left on earth!! Would you mind sharing it? Selling it? Lending it? Thanks

Hi! I'm hoping you have some insight on how to get the tonearm set up properly. I'm having the hardest time trying to get it to track properly. Moving those little screws up and down is my personal nightmare! Hoping you have a simple explaination on how to get this working. Thanks! R

I am trying to reply to a post about the sony cdp102 that you have for sale however I cannot and have to post here. How much do you want for it? I need it posted to Malta. Many thanks

Hello, Sir. I hope you are still working on restorations. I have a Pioneer SA-9100 amplifier I bought new in 1973. It started giving trouble with the protection circuit, and later, probably unrelated, the sound became very "hard." It had a beautiful sound, very clean. Would you be able to take this for a complete restoration? Thanks so much.

Marantz 110 tuner. Signals are low. Local AM and FM stations peak at 3/4 scale on the meter. Detoxed switches. Signal drops significantly without the antennas so internal antenna wires are good. The stereo light will not illuminate, low signal? Speakers sound mono. Should I just recap the 110 tuner or trouble shoot the problem first. As I look through previous fixes on AK, it always seems to be a cap.

Good luck getting that Sony repaired.

That doesn’t make me feel better. Thanks for the reply though. I feel like it’s a gamble taking it to a repair man. I’d like to buy one if I see one come up with no error light on

Thank you for helping Rick K. complete the pickup of the equipment. He is quite excited about the speakers in particular. I hope the rest of your relocation goes smoothly.

Hello!
I read you have a copy of the repair manual for the mcs3260 receiver, it was posted a few years ago so I'm not sure if you still have it, but if you do I really could use a copy for the tuner section. Mine has an issue with the FM Mute circuit,
My name is Robert, thanks.

ah yes, I've bumped into that article on my deep dive. i guess the 3080 and 3060 are quite similar. I'll reference this and se if I can locate those fixed idle current resistors. I appreciate the word of caution for getting the value wrong and unleashing the amps ghost smoke haha..

I had one other question that I thought you might be savvy about -the power meters on this 3060 appear to be working although they don't travel much range or see much action unless you really crank the volume pot when then the speakers are silly loud. is this normal?

There's meter calibration instructions in the 3080 manual. I suspect they're probably fine though; 'normal' listening levels would typically only be 1-3W.

Like your Avatar! Same color as my old '74 I foolishly traded for a 4x4 pickup that I needed more. Sometimes need trumps want but want stays with ya as regret.

Matt, I need your address so when I travel to your place tomorrow, the 29th, to drop off my 1050 for you to fix. Thanks, Joe

Still here. MX-113 and MC-2120 Amp running Nakamichi CR-5A and MCD205 CD player. Also, MA-6200 used as pre-amp driving MC-2125 amp with Denon DP-40 table. Speakers, original JBL L100s and McIntosh XR-16s. All running nicely.

Hi jobrewer1983,

I do not know how I missed your reply to my ad on craigslist. Sorry about that.

Yes, I do have another W-5M that is completely assembled and working. Give me a call if you are interested.

Thanks,

Tim

Thank you very much for your post. I had sound flickering on and off (mostly off) and auto stop and reverse function not working. You just saved my life.

Hey - I have way too many vintage turntables. If you are in the U.S. I might be able to hook you up.

If you want I can send you some details. The shipping costs suck so if you can find something reliable close to home you'll do better off but your selection might be lacking.

Just let me know what you might be looking for. Have many Technics including linear tracking as well as some other brands.

Sorry; I almost never checked this forum anymore. I hope your message was not sitting too long.

Personally, I prefer the 4344 to the L300 and 4333. It really is an amazing speaker and sounds smoother to me. I do still have the crossover boards, and they are biampable. My email is ericamador@gmail.com. Thanks.
