D357and B527 as marked on the part

Always the best route.Go with whats onboard..Service manuals frequently have mistakes and typo's.

These may do the trick..I'm going to give them a try on a G4700.Unless someone else comes up with a better selection...

I'd be a little leery (maybe a lot leery) of replacing a TO-220 part with a TO-126. Find another TO-220 for the job...there's lots of them out there.

The only limitation is if your amp uses the metal tab as a conduction path (as Sansui does all too often), limiting your choice to another TO-220 with a metal tab. So many of the newer TO-220 devices are totally encased in plastic. Advantage...no mica insulator needed. Disadvantage, slightly less thermal conductivity and incompatibility with those boards that insist on using the tab as the collector connection.

OK Glen these 2SB & D's look like a mini light weight TO-220 very similar to the old TO-202N all the crossref data --> TO-126 --with exception of NTE of course..
They are Free standing not heatsink mounted nor tab conductor so case metal is not and issue.

Ah...was hard to tell from the pic. By themselves they look like a run-of-the-mill TO-220. As drivers for a 50WPC amp, they're probably just fine.

SO how did you find the info for 2sb527 and then cross it to the replacement transistors
you listed

I would like to be able to find replacements myself and not have to bug you guys
thanks very much for the help

Its a secret!:D G-O-O-G-L-E....:smoke: Don't tell anyone I told you.:D

Then
http://www.fairchildsemi.com/sitesearch/fsc.jsp?command=eq&attr1=AAAFamily&attr2=Power+BJT

or

http://www.onsemi.com/PowerSolutions/taxonomy.do?id=797

Once you get used to using there selection filters..Just takes a little practice.
Both sites have a Cross reference guide ..But still some transistors are not listed in there database..The ones that do get a hit on there cross reference still need to double check and compare datasheets.
