Damn Jack White, not bad...

His new album for those that don't want to click. I thought it was going to be a lot more than the $25 that amazon sells it. I guess some of those Third Man Crosleys play 78?

ULTRA LP FEATURES:
- 180 gram vinyl
- 2 vinyl-only hidden tracks hidden beneath the center labels
- 1 hidden track plays at 78 RPM, one plays at 45 RPM, making this a 3-speed record
- Side A plays from the inside out
- Dual-groove technology: plays an electric or acoustic intro for “Just One Drink” depending on where needle is dropped. The grooves meet for the body of the song.
- Matte finish on Side B, giving the appearance of an un-played 78 RPM record
- Both sides end with locked grooves
- Vinyl pressed in seldom-used flat-edged format
- Dead wax area on Side A contains a hand-etched hologram by Tristan Duke of Infinity Light Science, the first of its kind on a vinyl record
- Absolutely zero compression used during recording, mixing and mastering
- Different running order from the CD/digital version
- LP utilizes some mixes different from those used on CD and digital version

I hope the run out (what would normally be the lead in) groove on side A doesn't drop the needle onto the deck of the turntable, or that $25 could turn into $125 or more, very quickly. :)

I just placed my $20 + $6 Shipping Bet on this that It is Real...I just hope that Jack has kept the Music on it, lets say a Bit more on the Main Stream Side...So I'll be able to play it for other People...I have a feeling that He has Not...

Anybody else think this is nothing but hype?

Has anything that Jack has done been hype? Not that I recall. Appears that he is not one of those musicians / entertainers that rely on hype to get to the public. As a matter of fact he was one of the few artists that made all of his music available on vinyl. Before I get chastised - just my opinion. :D

For a lot of people, the answer to "Why vinyl?" has a lot to do with vinyl being a physical thing that the listener interacts with. Creative cover art isn't about the music, but it's encouraged and appreciated. Therefore, implementing some creativity into the manufacture of the vinyl itself and how the listener interacts with it also has merit IMO.

Like it or not, people are talking about it and that's good for everyone.

I've got an order in on it because I like Jack White's music which is what I buy records for, the music.

Not sure I'd want to let my cartridge play through the label, but other than that, I dig that Jack White is a passionate audio guy.

I think Jack white and family are one of the few big name artists that are into it first to make music and have fun and second as a business. I dont think this release is hype, but I think as any good marketeer would it is hyped up for sales. Despite that I have little doubt that its a excellent recording. I do happen to like his music as well and have a pre-order in.

Besides, who wouldnt want a 3 speed lp with overdrive?
