What makes Fluoroscan gear so darn sexy?

Why is Pioneer Fluoroscan equipment so collectible?

I my opinion it 99% of the Fluoroscan gear was built during the time when Pioneer still cared about quality and it showed.

I'm a sucker for the silver faced gear and think the blue lights just go great with the silver.

I chose option 4.

Me too. It appears to be the last of the silver face and the start of cost cutting for Pioneer. But I love watching those meters dance with the silver around them.

I'm always amazed that the meters still work after all these years!!!
it kicks most gear in the ass with the lights down low.
My kids love it:D the sound & the looks.

The silver and blue ... plus the amazing detailed sound of my SA-9800. Not to mention the fact that it was the coolest equipment you could get when I was a teenager and worked in a stereo store.

I love the look of my CT-F1250. I especially like the fact that I can dim the meters so they are not brighter than the rest of my equipment when I turn off the lights.

I love blinking disco lights in the dark :D!

A lot of gear that appeared on the technological cusp between analog and digital were (in my opinion) lacking. That's not uncommon when a new technology comes to play. I feel that Pioneer just seemed to get it correct right out of the box.
Once I bought my SX-D7000 I had to pick up a flouroscan cassette deck. It's my first setup that actually follows a theme.
Silver-blue, something us old guys can relate to.

They are attractive and the SX-5000 and the SX-D7000 took on a whole different look that I find to be very distinctive from anything they had done before.

Great use of a fireplace! :thmbsp:

My parents used to camp over at Sullivan State Park when I was in HS, back around '74 - '75. Nice place to camp!

Thank you, I agree the gear makes the fireplace look cool. Sullivan Lake is still kicking!
