"I'm as free as a bird, nowwww..."

Oh yeah... the question. McIntosh MR78 tuna. I was proud to get it, but it has had its share of issues.

Hmm. The Fisher C800 console and Heathkit SP-2 preamps date from 1958, and the Fisher 70-A amp runs all the way back to about 1954.

My Empire 208, from November 1960, but it isn't usually in the main system. The Fisher 200b tube tuner, when it's in, is next in line. As for what is normally in the main system, the oldest would be my Sony SS-m7 speakers, from about ten years back.

Nothing as old as your stuff. But I have a Sansui G-4700 that I picked up 31 years ago (September 3, 1979, to be precise). My son is now using it as the core of his college sound experience.

Pioneer PL-41 TT, purchased originally by a retired military officer in Vietnam in ~1968
Sansui G9000DB receiver, purchased by me in Giessen, Germany in 1978
Technics RS-M85 cassette deck, also purchased in Germany, 1978

The oldest thing currently in use in my main system is my Mach Ones. Beyond that, my STA-84 is the oldest thing I have, mid 70's I believe.

Mach Ones are the 40-4024A models, so the earlier ones.

lolol

.........ME? I am the oldest Vintage piece in my system about 30 yrs older than my 12 piece Silver Faced Pioneer rig with 2 pair of:thmbsp: Old Bozaks.........:)!

Me. :D
The audio console that houses the bedroom system actually is the oldest piece, but how old it exactly is... Late sixties something...

The oldest piece of audio gear I have is my Macy's gramophone. It is from the late 20's or early 30's. I will post a link to a video when I get home tonight.

As far as oldest "normal" gear I would guess either my magnavox 175 or Baldwin 45C's, duno which is older. Oldest thing in my system thoug is the marble slab under my TT. It is from a hotel that was built in the 30's if I remember right.

In the main rig I guess it's the Thorens TD 125 mkI. I'm not sure when it was made... mid-late '60s I guess? Next would be the Dynaco Stereo 70, though it is a late production unit. Stuff not in use... Heathkit W5M and matching FM mono tuner and preamp (with various 78 EQ options) or Harman-Kardon A-224 integrated amp and matching AM-FM-AM/FM stereo-MPX stereo tuner. I'd guess all that stuff is very late '50s.

The oldest components I own are part of my bedroom system: a pair of AR-3 speakers from 1966. Slightly more modern are a Dual 1019 TT, and a couple of Revox A77 RTR tape recorders, barely making it into the 70s . Then some gear from the second half of the 70's follow [Nikko (Alpha 2, Beta 2, Gamma1, Gamma 5, Eq 1),Tandberg (TCD 330 and TCD 440 A), Akai GXC-570 D, Revox (B77 and B795),Thorens TD-126 MK II].

Fairchild TT

I have a Fairchild 412-1B turntable that I bought around 1964. Unfortunately it is currently not in service but does work and has a Shure/SME 3009 tonearm installed that I purchased along with the TT.
