Man these are beasts. Power hungry. Sound great though. Sadly the 15's were replaced by some Rat Shack woofers. Still sound good though.

Those look interesting! Can you post pics of the underside?

There was a pair of these close to me for sale last year that I passed up. Think the asking price was $100. I thought they were RTR speakers.:scratch2:

There's a guy that responded to an add I put in CL for speakers that said he had some big Heathkits. I may have to push him for a pic, could be a good find. 70 miles away though

I saw those pop up. Very cool looking, 70's industrial design feel. They "looked" like they would sound pretty good. Glad you were able to get them.

The power rating now depends on the max rating of the Radio Shack woofers. I once used a pair of 10" and 12" Radio Shack woofers in some Fisher speakers and they sound good.

A friend of mine put together a set of those in the 70's. They sounded very nice. He ran them with a 200 wpc Heathkit amp too, and pre.

Heathkit made (or had them made for them) some good stuff..

Here's a thread about a pair I found.. mine were a little mistreated with some cheap replacement drivers, but after refitting, they sound excellent.

There's also the AS-101 (if I recall the correct model number) that is a Altec system with 811 horn..

Harry from the polk forums had a pair a month or so ago. I got to listen to them a little at his apartment, they sounded pretty good! I'd have love to have heard them in a larger room with some good tube power going through them.

There is a pair of those at a local thrift here in Elkhart but the guy is asking WAY TO MUCH. I haven't made an offer because I wasn't to thrilled by the cabinet build plus the unknown factor as of it's performance. These have been there for over a year and don't seem to be coming down in price. Even if i could get them down to $200 to me that would still seem like to much, but then again what do i know.

For me to pay $200.00 they would have to be near mint and in perfect operating condition. Even then I would be hard pressed to buy them.

IDK if it is because I'm cheap or if it is because I just don't understand why some vintage stuff costs so much.
