There probably aren't any good Ted Nugent songs and I'm not actually interested in experimenting.

So do cats, but that's not the point. If you don't like him, ignore the post.

EXCUSE ME---I am expesssing my thoughts which this forum is all about---
Do not critize me for expessing my opinion-So you hate cats --well I hate Ted --
END OF CONVERSATION!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yah he's controversial, but you cannot deny his guitar playing. Like I said, I really shouldn't, so I didn't. You just wanted to pick a fight and I almost fell for it. This one probably won't last long. Did not realize he was this polarizing.

There are a million garage band guitarists with better chops.

Huh, I guess I'm missing something. Are you sure its the music or the politics? I really felt like the guy could rock. I don't think I'm going to get an honest answer on this one.

This is not an appropriate question for this forum.

Nugent has always been a mediocre guitarist, at best. My opinion, of course. However, love him or hate him, he's always been a showman. He'd have never sold many albums without his sideshow schtick.

How about the millions of records Justin Beiber has sold in a shorter amount of years? Measuring skill/talent based on record sales doesn't work. It just measures marketing/exposure.

You're killing me. Have you never really seriously grooved to a Nug tune? Stranglehold? Dog Eat Dog? These are more than just Bieber songs we are talking about. They are main stays and played on radio stations since their original inception. Dare I say, Classics :sigh:

Let me see if I got this straight. He's not a great guitarist or singer, but he's a helluva performer who has made some great rock and roll. While I don't agree with his political views, that's not really the point.

And yes I do consider it rude to comment immediately "He sucks". Not everyone agrees with you. A more reasonable response would be "None of them!:D"

My favorite Nugent song would be the live version of Stranglehold.

Thank you, Putterman. I thought I was losing my mind.

He IS a pretty good guitarist. I think he made a choice in the late 70's for more schtick and less seriousness but having four Nugent concerts under my belt when he was back in his prime I would say that a song like Hibernation pretty much validates his guitar playing skills and shows the serious side of Ted Nugent. I could care less what his politics are just like I could care less that Jimmy Page dabbled in the occult. The guy could rock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHGu9P3bquI
