♫ 23-March ♫ New England Winter/Spring FrankenFest 2019

As usual, I'm hoping to be there; wasn't able to attend the last one due to extenuating circumstances, but with any luck, things will work out this time. Not sure yet what I'll bring with me, but as always, it will likely make noise.

Sadly, I have some bad news to report about one of our Festers. Ian Baren, aka chinacave, passed away recently. I remember seeing him at several of the FrankenFests, including the one a few years ago where I accidentally fried the electrostatic panel on one of his B&W DM70s. I'm sure he's hanging out with Frank and Don in heaven by now. RIP, Ian. :(

Oh no...I really enjoyed talking with Ian. But not to worry Adam, he was able to fix that 'stat within the year. I hope to see you there this time, my friend.

I'm down in Richmond VA now, but if I can get off from work I am sooooo there

I need to liquidate some of my stuff for sure aaaaaand probably but different stuff

It'd be great to see you guys.... Been way too long

Damn, son. Haven't seen you in about 8 years. the open baffles at Franks' house and maybe once more before the move. It would be good to have you back for another.

I have never been to a Frankenfest so pardon my ignorance of the subject....Do we need to sign up or anything or can we just "show up"? How about selling equipment .. do we have rent a space? Thanks, Joe.
Just show up and be friendly. Yes, we sell, barter, give away equipment if you want to do so.

Much appreciate the offer below from rocksteady, another member in CT was coming to MA today and was kind enough to the Advents to Waltham.

*Pony Express request*

I was wondering if anyone from the mid-atlantic (or MD in particular) will be attending Frankenfest this year and be willing to PE a couple of turntables to me afterwards. Dlucy, NJ Pheonix?

Thanks!

Jack

Finally it's almost here. These seem way too few and far between. Can't wait to see everyone.

Bill, I live in Norwood if that's South Shore enough. I'd be happy to bring back Advents for you. So long as nobody's sell VOTTs at a bargin :)

I can't believe I haven't heard of this till now. Just had a lady named Sandy email me about a giant amp I have on Craigslist. Said I should bring it by. Not sure if I will (thing weighs a ton) but I'll definitely be there!

I'll try to be there. I'd like to bring my Sony HP-610A music system to demo.
All original, even has the SS-610 speakers. Might bring some test equipment to sell too.

The more demos the better - wow us, show us something unique and unusual.

Well that got me thinking.

I could bring for demo my custom version of Zilch/Schumacher Econowave HO speakers. My cabinets are quite different but based on this project: http://techtalk.parts-express.com/forum/tech-talk-forum/34467-flex-your-pcd-mettle/page7

They're road-ready and utilize an Eminence 3012HO/B&C DE250/QSC 152i horn combo and a high powered version of the crossover. I've pounded these things at dozens of events and they always amaze me.

I would need someone to offer amplification to play them. There won't be the benefit of subs and minor corrective analog EQ that I use at home but still, they are certainly unique and unusual.

Happy to offer up my Sansui AU20000 (170/channel) to demo your speakers.
As a source I’ll be bringing my Denon DP62L TT with an Audio Technica ATN25 cartridge.

Thank you, that's a generous offer. I'll bring them along with a couple of LP's.

Gents, just an FYI, I posted a list of stuff on Bartertown, subsequently subscription "expired" and I am unable to resubscribe, so if you have hailed me there I cannot see it. Should there be any interest (have already sold some items before the snafu) send me a PM and I will get back to you...seem that still works.

You’re no longer a subscriber - but your post is still there.

Contact the admins to get it straightened out. AKs been a little buggy as of late. When I switch around to different sections, I have to constantly re-log in. Never had to do this in the past.

Food-
I’ll bring cups, bowls, utensils, paper towels, bottled water and 4 big bottles of soda.
Taylor Player will bring ice.
I have 2 bags of chips and a jar of salsa leftover over from the last event.

Everyone should plan on bringing some edibles to share with the group.
It’s a pahty!
