Any 3-pin computer-fan wiring extension will do the job as long as you get 11" or more of wire. Clip off the end you don't need and you're in business.

I saw you mentioned these in you thread, but this worked out fine. It would have been nice to just plug them in, but then again it would be nice to un plug the entire PS.
The current mod is finished. It was a bit of PITA making sure the orientation was correct. I have no trace locations on the component side of my board. And the 100 ohm resistor on each side was in a different location than any pictures I saw of others. But this worked great. I left it running over night. All pins are within 1.5v most of them dead on. 80v regs are luk warm. Q203 and Q205 are still pretty hot but at least now they can breath. I replaced R202 with a 22r-3w as per your thread and am also gonna replace the rest of the carbon resistors. The big wire wounds measured dead on so I'm leaving those in.

Ok, well the new cans are in and the power supply is finished. Also the amplifiers are back in. The DC balance and idle current adjusted with no problems. I bought a couple different lights from ebay to try a few things and ended up using the ones pictured. Clearance was the only issue I was worried about. There is about 3mm space between the under side of the wood top and the clear plastic housing. The LEDs protrude out almost 4mm, so I de soldered the top LED and problem solved. These are 8v, rectified, and pretty bright. Ill post a pic when its back together.

Well just to re cap (pun intended) I finally got this guy back to his home. I got 298 watts out of it, both channels driven. Not bad. I did some listening with a pair of cerwin vega 316r's and wow.! It didn't take much volume to fill the room. The 1980 has plenty of finesse, not harsh at all just easy to listen to.

Just wanted to thank you again for another outstanding job....The Pioneer sounds better than ever, and of course, you already know how much I appreciate the job you did on my Marantz 2500. I'm really looking forward to hearing the Sansui G-9000DB when you get finished with it. I know (just based on the two units you have already done for me) that the Sansui will sound better than it did when I bought it brand new in 1979...
