I have the QED phono selecter. This thing is from the 80's when vinyl was king. No effect on the sound, totally passive, great connectors, massive switch and steel construction. I love it.

Another vote for the audio selector box.

I have a 3-way selector box that I bought at Radio Shack in the '90s and it works perfectly. I installed it between the tables and my preamp, and connected all of the ground wires to the same terminal on the preamp. No loss in fidelity that I can hear, and no hum issues either.

Audio-only selectors are somewhat rare these days, but AV selectors are easy to find and should work just as effectively.

I've been thinking about this problem as well. I would like to have two TTs connected to the same phono input and have the ability to easily connect a third.

Wouldn't a DJ mixer work here? It seems to me that all of the connections are there and they can be pretty inexpensive. Plus they provide the ground connection...

The problem with using a DJ mixer is that most of them have cheap phono preamps in them. There are only a few that have excellent phono preamps that I know of and they are not cheap. The Urei 1620, the Bozak, and the Rane NP-24. You can usually get a used NP-24 pretty cheap, but a Urei or a Bozak is going to cost you.

I hear ya. I do have two systems sitting side by side. :thmbsp:

I once saw a system with two identical $3K phono preamps, one for each turntable. They both went into the same line stage, though....

are you referring to this type of selector? this one is just AUDIO i believe and shipping to canada is reasonable eBAY
