King of the iPod docks?

OK, I have to ask. These are really efficient, right? And I am pretty sure the 24 ohm impedance is within the range of a small music player's headphone connection (I know that some 27 ohm sets are very popular), so... :scratch2: how about an iPod dock on the chair next to you???
Or just a long phono cable with a 1/8" plug on it. No amp required!!! 
I'm actually serious. It would be really interesting to find out if these are efficient enough to be audible at a useful listening distance from a tiny little iPod. OK, they won't be loud, but that's what headphone amps are for. :yes:
Hmm, this could lead to a great way to get the neighbors used to them... when they come over to gawk, suggest they bring over their player and plug it in to hear their own tunes. Once they start rocking to your speakers, well, the garage giants won't be foreign noise invaders any more, they'll be part of the neighborhood.
Just a few thoughts, anyway.
