2010-11 College Basketball

Hey Mulester - looks like the University of Arkansas is getting the University of Missouri's basketball coach.

wow, that's big news, he's one hell of a coach. Looks like Missouri offered him two million a year and Arkansas topped that by ten per cent. He was an assistant coach there for fifteen seasons, so he surely still has deep roots there.

Congrats to Mike Anderson and Arkansas, oops to Missouri. They lost a good one.

happy trails to my Tar Heels, who played over their heads to get as far as they did. They improved their levelof play greatly since they lst played Kentucky, but not as much as Kentucky did. That Harrelson guy in the middle is a real difference maker, big, strong, hard nosed, and determined.

At least either Butler or VCU will advance to the championship. Even though I'd love seeing them on opposite sides of the bracket and facing each other in the final, chances are pretty good that neither would advance that far.

I'm going to have a tough time with the VCU-Butler game, as I absolutely hate to see either fall short after such legendary runs. What they have both acomplished, for me, truly defines the appeal of college basketball.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. What drew me to the tournament in the '80s, and continues to do so today is the uncertainty of the outcome. I've mentioned this before, and will do so again -- no one is unbeatable. I've seen teams lose that I would have never bet against in a million years. I still smile when I think of Jimmy Valvano and Rollie Massimino.

Ya just gotta love those upsets!

Damn, I was just reading what Villanova went through to the title game in '85:

#9-seed Dayton
#1-seed Michigan
#4-seed Maryland
#2-seed North Carolina
#2-seeded Memphis State

And then they had to face another #1 that was playing better than anyone else!

There is nothing like March Madness. Nothing.

John

current Purdue coach Matt Painter has interviewed for the Missouri job, and supposedly has an offer, a seven year deal at $2 million a year, interesting

Second half is quite the see saw. What a classic game. Ties, lead changes, and what is with all the freshmen nowadays? I guess they are the new juniors with everyone leaving early.

UConn - Butler it is. I still think they should re-seed the final four. This was a great game, but the 4 seed should have been playing the 8 seed, not the 3 seed.

UConn mens and womens basketball teams both won the NCAA championship game in 2004. First and only time this has been accomplished in Division One basketball. I wonder...........??
