2010-11 College Basketball

We've only done it for four years but the point winner has been in the 2 or 3 position each time. The guy who's most into college hoops and has the most researched picks has never won it simply due to someone having one or two lower seeds that win a few games. Last year it was the guy with Butler that edged him out.

I think this is going to be a great tournament. No real dominant team and I think there will be a lot of upsets. Maybe this will be the first year that none of the #1 seeds make it to the final four. I think this is the best tournament of all college sports!(Just wish they would have one for Division 1 football)
So here are my final four Picks West VA, U Conn, Notre Dame and Wisconsin. I would have taken BYU, instead of WI, except they kicked their best shooter. off the team for having premarital sexual relations. Go figure BYU, I have no idea how Jim McMahon made it through 4 years there.

Are we doing the bracket game again through CBSSports.com? I'm ready to pick my brackets, if I can wrestle the newspaper away from my husband! :)))

I am not counting any Jayhawks before they are hatched. :D

I have Kansas winning it all, but, only if one element shines through above all the others-coaching. KU has the size, speed, ball skills, strength, athleticism, all it takes, more than any other team that I've seen in recent years. What they often lack is discipline, and that has to be laid at the feet of Bill Self. If he had had the balls to give the Morris twins specific roles (not to include shooting every time they get a touch, getting into foul trouble with unacceptable frequency, beating their gums at refs and opposing players, etc.) and to park their asses at the far end of the bench if they didn't work the plan earlier on, they would be part of an effectively unbeatable team (this side of the NBA). Self is obviously one of the top coaches in the business, but a great coach like Calhoun, Knight, Boeheim, Coach K etc, would yank them off the floor and forget they were even in the building for their tendencies to have periods of selfish, brain dead play.

One, maybe two, teams have close to the same level of talent, if that many. If they don't get it done, its not the kids fault. It has to be blamed on the coach who let them beat themselves.

Breaking news for Duke and Purdue.

Duke's Kyrie Evans cleared to play for Duke. This kid was amazing early on, but has been sidelined since December with a turf toe kind of injury. Wonder if this will be good or bad for Duke's lineup.

Purdue's Kelsey Barlow suspended for the rest of the season (tournament) for conduct detrimental to the team. He was getting 20 minutes a game for Purdue.

Here's where my Boilers implode...:sigh:

interesting remark, coming from a Kentucky fan...............Yes I know, and I will stick to my remark...........we will live and learn.

a healthy Kyrie Irving that has been practicing with the team enough for Coach K to play him, is seriously bad news for the rest of the field. He's as close to unstoppable as anybody out there, Jimmer and Kemba included. If he's fit, Duke moves to the head of the field.

The last thing Purdue needed right now is the loss of another key player. I hope they have a diamond in the rough or two to take up the slack.

Saw this coming.

In the goofy pool I ended up with: Kansas, UConn, Ariz, Butler, Mich St, Marquette, Princeton and Hampton. Hopefully there's a few wins in there. It will feel weird rooting for Kansas to win it all.

In my similar goofy pool, I ended up with Ohio State, Louisville, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Clemson, Michigan St, St. Peter, TX- San Antonio.

Looks like you picked 3rd finnbow. This was the craziest year for picking because of the relative lack of strength of some of the 2 through 4 seeded teams.
