Hiya,

Wonder how many of these titles are already up at E-Bay for pre-sale.

Sorry to say but this strays further and further away from the original intention each year.

Yup, I agree with you on the intention part. Don't think any of them are released yet. For now its just the list which they usually keep under tight wraps.

FYI I am not trying to turn this into a grouch fest about this event. But this leaking is not an accident because of the money involved now releasing these titles.

In any case I really wish record stores would wise up some and quit being tools of the record companies which I feel are parasites now attached to what use to be a cool thing.

Hiya,

The Zappa And Moody Blues are cool looking though.

I remember my first record day several years ago when I went into a record store that I normally go into on Saturday and it was absolutely packed. I remember thinking that I was going to have to find another day to go into that store. I got a gift bag and I thought that was pretty cool couldn't understand why they did it. Later on when I was surfing the web that night I found out it was record store day . Haven't missed one cents looking forward to the next one . This will be my first one in Wisconsin

I enjoyed the first few record store days, I started going in 2011 and had a blast. Each year I have found it a little less exciting. For me the bloom is off the rose. I don't want to discourage anyone else from having fun but I am now seeing why there is so much negative press over this day. The funny thing is that there are so many great titles being released throughout the year that if you put a little effort into doing your own research the rewards are so much better than this one day of new titles.

Almost every title is a major label release. And most are rereleases. What a disappointing trend. Absolutely nothing here piques my interest in the slightest.

When IS record store day?

Can I suppose that the "indie-exclusive" means they won't be in Newbury Comics? Only place to buy new records other than a handful at Barnes & Noble around here... =(

I like the Animal Tracks EP.
The Shaggs were so truly horrible I'd probably have to get that one...but the Bieber picture disc could win out. :)

Animals, Shaggs, Creedence, Bowie, Sublime, Modern Jazz Quartet, Various Artists – Jazz Dispensary: Cosmic Stash, Moody Blues, and Joan Jett all look interesting.
