He wants $2000 for a pile of $20 turntables, stacked one on top of the other. When a person could just buy a $2000 turntable.

I suspect you're right. But the way he worded his ad it's not too clear what he really means.

Whichever the price might be it hurts me to see them stacked on that wobbly looking desk in direct sunlight like that.
 
Even at $500 I'd run, not walk, away. You're buying a storage problem, and a bunch of turntables that obviously, given the nature of how they're displayed, have not been taken care of. One $500 vintage turntable would be so much more useful than a stack of mediocrity. Which is what that looks like.
 
This seller is local to me. I might see if he will let me view them. Chances are, they are a bunch of $30-$50 junk tables, but you never know. Probably grabbed from years of Goodwill hoarding.

My Sony PS-X70 and Kenwood KR-9400 came out of a deal like this - you never know what you might find. At $500 I wouldn't be interested, but if they're decent tables in decent shape, it could make a pretty solid inventory for a record store or eBay seller.
 
There might be some good tables in there. But to buy the entire lot for $500, I would pass. Stacking them like that I wonder if he cared at all about them.

Only takes one junky looking but functional 301 TT in the pile to make it worthwhile.

But I just know its a stack of BSR TT's

Of course that is my brain telling me its so far away to even want to know its a pile of something good I can't get at.

Can't be many nice DD tables in that heap or the table would be bowed in the middle from the weight. Worth a look but I don't expect much. If they are the 30-50 buck tables, then the seller is getting full price for the collection.

That appears to be a "Lifetime" table. I have 20 or so of them, and they could possibly be worth more than those turntables.:thmbsp::thmbsp::thmbsp:
