4,8,16 ohm speaker selector

Does anyone know of a nice compact rotery switch, 3 position, I think it is called 2 pole (for stereo). For a transformer with all three outputs. And should it be a make then break (shorting) or break then make (non shorting)?

What's worse, running a tube amp with no load, or shorting two taps on the output's secondary? I'm guessing "no load", but I could be wrong!

There are a ton of switches out there that fit your needs. ebay has some, and all the major parts houses carry them. are you ordering parts from anywhere specific soon?

Nobody in paticular that I know of now. I have most everything for this build. Just waiting on the Edcors to arrive. Unless I pull a dumbass, the amp would be off for switching anyway. Might just put 4 posts on each channel.

I usually put the posts instead of a switch, tho I've been tempted as you are. In general, one of my saying is "i hate wire", and the switch introduces more wire and solder joints. I hope you keep awake at night thinking about it as much as I have!

Yup, that would do it! (use one of the spares to light up a LED indicator to say what impedance you've selected, c'mon, you know you want to!)

Yes and you don't want 6,3 volts AC on the same switch as your speakers to induce hum , go with DC and LEDs .

A bridge rectifier and a 470 mfd 25 wvdc cap on the 6.6 filament line , use a 430 ohm droping resistor for each LED
