Even if we were to split this a few ways, there wouldn't be enough in the group to take some of the genres. I just don't know which would still be left behind.?.

3896 of them are the ones everyone ignores in the thrift store.

exactly. the entire Ray Conniff and Jim Nabors catalog! and some of those are double LPs so it's an even better deal!

I don't want the lps looked through as I already have them tightly packed and ready for transport

....he's asking someone to hand him $600 without looking at the titles or condition of any of the records?:nutz:

At that price he probably doesn't want to bother with people taking hours to go through them. At that price you can easily break even donating them to Goodwill.

Somebody got a deal on a 10,000 LP collection up in Waterbury, CT. about a month ago. Coincidentally, the price for that collection was ~ $600.

I have done big collections of mixed stuff a couple of times. And basically what you do is speed sort right on the tail gate of the pickup. Keeper go in one box stuff you don't want never leaves the pickup.

Once you have the keeper stuff (don't worry about condition or any of that now just titles and genres you might want) then as soon as you have the speed sort done (last 1200 Plus collection I bought took 3 hours and 3 beers) count how many are in the truck shut the tail gate and head for your closest GW SA Salley Anne Humane Soc. where ever and donate them.

OR if you have friends into other gneres then you give them a shot selling to them at the price you paid or a little more.

When you get to the thrift get a receipt for the records based on the amount the thrift sells them for. So if out of 4000 LP's you end up keeping 500 and the thrift like here asks $1.99 or more for an LP you write the receipt for $6965.00 which you had to your accountant, H&R block or use in Turbo tax as a charitable deduction.

One year I was able to list a $1300.00 charitable donation on my taxes and increase my refund.

Then sit down and go through what you sorted out and
