There are a few funny little quirks with the TU999 as well, I have a few mods to that to improve its audio presentation.

By all accounts Kev has developed some quite astonishing modifications to the AU-999. You should have a look at what is involved (simple), and seriously consider them in any refurbishment, as they transform the SQ of the AU-999 to another level. It also sounds like his TU-999 modifications would be well worth it too.

according to the seller, the AU has had a recap and restore a few years back with low hours since. He also stated it has "a couple" of the Kev mods, but not the subsonic filter/bass mod. still waiting

they have inners, they just aren't black. they sure have even coloring. did they not produce these in gold? Tuner is the same way.

I've got a 4000 with the tuner dial having a gold insert. I always wondered why some do and some didn't....
