A Poll how far do you sit from your speakers

OK I'm curious I sit 17 ft away from my speaker which are 9.5' apart measured center to center of the front baffle.

It has been ventured this is way to far to hear decent soundstage etc.


So a Poll how far from your speakers in your main system do you sit.

Speakers are 6.5' apart and the listening position (sofa) is 7.5' away.
That being said, this system is usually played when I'm on the computer or doing work in the shop, in other rooms.

I sit 4 0r 5 feet from my 4 "Bass" speakers and about 12 feet from my 4 mains about 9 feet apart and stacked ! 880 watts near as I can figure max !!! I can only stand about 10 or 12 on my main volume control though ! goes up to 30 ! 10 or 12 with no distortion !!!!! probably just using about 450 watts ? Listnin to Boston through it right now and sounds awesome !!!! took me a while to figure out how to hook it all up together and still sound good , I have now "KICKED IS"s A-S !!!!!

My room is 16' x 25'. Speakers are 13' apart and I sit 11' back. Lots of work to do on the room though, no sound stage yet :tears:

About 9' away, speakers about 7' apart and 1.5' from the back wall. I had better soundstage results when I could have them in the middle of my old loft w/no room boundaries but they still image very well.

I hit the wrong one (I said 10 ft). I sit 13 ft away from the speakers which are 7 ft apart. I have worked very hard on placement and get a very 3 dimensional sound. Wonderful fill in the middle and on both sides of the speakers. Sound is superb.

I'm kind of at the mercy of my room layout. About 8 feet away, speakers about 6 feet apart not equidistant from both speakers, though, and 15 feet of open room behind me. Not optimal for sound stage/imaging, but about the best I can do with the room (until the kids move out and I can get rid of the ping-pong table!!!)

About 10 feet away, drivers to ears. I'm limited in distance, unfortunately. The speakers are about a foot out from the wall and my listening position is on the sofa against the opposite wall. It's like a Manhattan apartment on the opposite coast.
I'd like to have a larger room but it's not going to happen in the immediate future. Even so, the speakers and room sound pretty good; no standing wave problems and a good stereo image in the sweet spot.

I said less than 6', but I'm probably right about at 6'. Equilateral triangle. It's amazing to me that I can sit that close to La Scalas and they still disappear.

I sit a between 7 and 8 feet back with the speakers about 50" on center.
